The potential of digitization in the pharmaceutical industry is of unlimited possibilities, but the skill by which the giants stand out is to recognize the moment and the rapid implementation. The transformation into an "intelligent company" is a goal that several pharmaceutical companies in the region have set for themselves in the past two years under the pressure of the pandemic, but the more experienced ones started this process earlier, positioning themselves as leaders in the region who are constantly looking for innovations in production processes. The regional pharmaceutical giant Galenika was the first to embrace digitalization as part of its modernization activities and became the first company in Central and Eastern Europe to implement a state-of-the-art business process management system, for which it won the prestigious SAP Quality Awards CEE in June 2021 .
